About Me
Hello! Welcome to 1st Grade! Please allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Kim Hruby. (My last name is pronounced Ruby, the H is silent. Just a conversation piece,
I guess. :)
I was born and raised in Oak Forest, Illinois. I graduated from NIU with a major in Elementary Education and a minor in English. I moved to Colorado in 1995 and began my teaching for a 5th grade teacher on a maternity-leave, in Highlands Ranch. Next I taught 3rd grade for one year and then moved on to 4th, for many years. While teaching 4th grade I also received my masters in the Arts of Teaching. Next I moved to 2nd grade for three years, taught 1st grade for five years, and then looped up with my students to second grade last year. Now I am back in 1st!
Wahoo! :)
My husband's name is Rob and he is teaching our "Essentials" here at MHE. We have two children, a dog, and some fish. We love traveling, outdoor activities, camping, going to concerts and sporting events, going out to eat, shopping, and just plain ol' being together! :)
Please feel free to contact me at any time through my email address. Even a small question is a good question. :)
